Saturday began like any other spring wedding day, sunny skies, a light breeze, and a slight chill in the air in Martin, Tennesee. We began the day at Halo Salon, where the bride and her maids were pampered, primped, and treated to a yummy breakfast bar! Kendall had gifted these gorgeous silk sleep shirts to her bridesmaids and they were the absolute cutest!
By the time we got to the church, family and friends were buzzing around finalizing all the ceremony and reception details! I love seeing the couples friends and family working so hard to make sure their day is perfect. Just like in Mr. Jeff’s Father of the Bride speech, the actions of all of those involved just speaks so loudly the love that everyone has for Jakeb and his new bride, Kendall!
Jakeb and Kendall opted against a first look to really soak in the moment they’d see each other for the first time. So we grab each side of the bridal party separately and braved the rain for portraits! THANK HEAVENS for a few overhang options to cover us from the rain and still create some beautiful images!
The ceremony was beautiful and so telling of the love they each shared for the other. The pastor shared words that they used to describe each other and their love for Christ was always the center! How big of a blessing is that to a future spouse, knowing that your partner’s heart is tuned in to Christ first and then to you. What a dream!
The reception was the most simple and intimate I’ve experienced. I overheard Kendall’s father describing the whole event as something that was so Kendall. I love when you create a day that fits you so perfectly that people can so easily see it! You could clearly see how important it was for Jake and Kendall to personally greet and thank each family for attending and celebrating their marriage with them. They didn’t even pencil in time into the timeline to enjoy the amazing dinner they had, that was the last thing on their minds!
We finished the evening by sneaking away to Univerity of Tennesee at Martin (where they first met) for “Just Married” portraits around campus. I am, as always, so thankful for being given the opportunity to capture such an amazing love story and its newest chapter being written!
Be sure to share your best wishes with the couple in the comments below!
Lots of love,
Alaina
P.S. I’m so hoping the newlyweds have found some sort of wifi in Jamaica (ahhhh!!!) and can see this beautiful collection of favorites from their special day!
