Adam + McKenzie - Alaina Kristine

May 15th was the perfect day for a wedding at a new favorite venue, Willow Creek Venue, in Fairfield, Illinois. Adam and McKenzie chose the perfect backdrop to their wedding day with beautiful landscapes, gorgeous barns, and a delicate bridal suite perfect for the girls! The rain cloud loomed over the day but these two held out hope. With impending rain in the forecast, Adam and McKenzie were the definition of calm cool, and collected. Honestly, all signs pointed to moving the ceremony indoors but McKenzie’s heart was set on an outdoor ceremony. We decided to make her dream a reality. I remember walking into the spot where she was tucked away and saying if this is what you want, we need to get your guests to the ceremony spot and we need to start ASAP. The rain started as guests made their way to their seats. Their friends, and family were so amazing to sit through the light rain to witness their marriage story begin! As the rain fell, I watched a beautiful ceremony unfold. One filled with prayer, tears, and most importantly, love.

When McKenzie first reached out it was about a mini session for an engagement announcement she thought might be coming soon! She was right and just a month or so later she was emailing me to tell me that Adam had popped the question! We quickly got their engagement announcement photos done and we were off to begin planning their perfect wedding day. McKenzie was a dream bride that valued the tiny details and photos. I knew the two of us (and Adam) were a match made in heaven! We spent the next several months dreaming about their special day and how we could document it in a way that they would adore for years to come. I even got the honor to video portions of the day (a first for me). It was truly an honor to capture their day and even more of an honor to call them dear friends.
