Jake + McKenzie | Engaged
A Carlyle Lake Engagement Session

Jake and McKenzie got to go on a Carlyle Lake adventure with me a few weeks back! I truly felt like we stepped onto the set of a Nicholas Sparks movie with the lake and the farmyard locations. If you didn’t know M+J, you might think we were somewhere on the east coast with finishing boats on the horizon! Instead, we were in the heart of the midwest.

We started at McKenzie’s childhood home and farm. While we were there her mom and dad played with my boys and showed them all the fun things around the farm via a red flyer wagon. I learned that this was McKenzie’s dad’s first summer not farming after retirement and I was able to remember back when my grandfather retired. It was a unique way to connect with the Magnus family. I feel like I know them on a whole other level after our time together on the farm.

After the farm, we headed down the road to Carlyle Lake. The water access point we stopped at was beautiful. Adult trees created a wonderful park area that tucked in next to the beach. The 80-degree day had visitors all over enjoying the weather. I instantly saw this jetty/mole that I knew would be perfect to get out on! The final product was exactly what I had imagined from afar. We also saw a marina with some beautiful sailboats that were SCREAMING to be used. So we did it! Again, the results were breathtaking!

We finished off the day with a quick little set in front of Jake’s beautiful Ford Mustang.  Most people know that I would much rather take photos of people, but it’s fun to get a car in on those every now and then! This set was so fun and I was so happy to add them to the gallery for them!

Enjoy The Future Mr. + Mrs. Fields’ engagement session highlights! farmyard engagement I learned after their session that this tree was home to McKenzies tire swing as a little girl. How fun to repurpose a tree with such a special memory attached to it. couple near grain binSneaking kisses behind the grain bins, what a farmgirl move 😉

These tractors were pulled out and parked just for us. My grandpa would approve! Grayson loved climbing on them after these photos <3
