Lane and Kalyn have the sweetest story. They met in high school, became the best of friends and fell in love. On top of the hopeless romantics of high school love, they bonded over their love of sports (baseball and softball) among other things. 

So when their day was in the early planning stages, they knew that their passions needed to play front and center! My favorite? When Kalyn and her dad played catch half way through their father-daughter dance. Coming from a girl that played softball for a good chunk of her life, that was pretty clever…and extra special. 

Lane adores Kalyn, it’s easy to see. And Kalyn, after all these years, is just as smitten. Getting to capture their love story was something I will forever remember. 

I’ve always felt it extra special to not just be a couples’ wedding photographer but also their friend and cheerleader. I think that was evident as Kalyn and Lane left their reception. Kalyn had her window down as I was walking some gear to the car. She thanked me and I responded with “love you!” It was as easy as telling a family member or dear friend how much I love them. Kalyn, is truly a friend. A friend I didn’t expect to gain but I am so glad I did!
