Brittany + Jon

Brittany and I met my junior year of college when I moved to Southeast Missouri State and knew NO ONE!! It’s crazy that 4..almost 5 years have come and gone. Our 9th-floor family is running off and getting married and having babies (okay, that’s just me! Ha!)! Point is, we are growing up, and that’s just about too much for me to handle!

Brit and Jon met at SEMO, as well, and instantly hit it off. I thought it was so sweet that in her handwritten vows she mentioned that a month into their relationship she wrote in her journal that She was in LOVE with Jon Graning and that she would marry him someday! Well, “someday” was January 27th at the most beautiful Plantation House in Saint Louis, MO.

Jon’s Grandmother’s diamond necklace graced Brit’s neck as her something old. It was so precious watching Jon’s mom drape it around her neck and secure the clasp. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room! Jon and Brit opted to not see each other before the wedding but they did want to sneak away and share a blind moment together! They were both overcome with anxiousness and emotion! Brit MIGHT have snuck a quick peek at him as he walked away! 😉

My favorite part of the day was probably the unity “candle” portion of the ceremony. The minister shared with their loved ones how Jon and Brit loved to experiment with new foods, recipes, and restaurants. This led to him explaining how their symbol of unity would be an oil dispenser that they each poured oil into and then mixed in different herbs and spices. It was such a unique take on the typical candle or sand unity!

We ended the night with a plated dinner and the most lively group of friends and family! Dad even got in on the action when He and Brit shared their daddy/daughter dance! They completely shocked the crowd (including myself) when their slow dance was interrupted by a mix of new and classic hits! Let me tell you, Mr. Griffith has got some SERIOUS moves!
